Lincoln campaign transparency

This Lincoln transparency, made of cheesecloth tacked onto a triangular frame, was used in a parade to rally the German vote in New York in 1860. An oil lamp in the center illuminated the legend on the three panels: Music of 1776.—We have Faith in Abraham—Old Abe, Ich Mein. Prince of Rails.
