Frock coat of Major General David M. Gregg

This frock coat belonged to Major General David M. Gregg,
who commanded the 6th United States Cavalry and the 8th
Pennsylvania Cavalry in 1862, and the 2nd Cavalry Division
of the Army of the Potomac from 1862 until his resignation
in February 1865. The coat originally had two stars to
denote the rank of major general. |
