While this image purports to show “Commodore” Nutt proposing to Minnie Warren under the watchful eye of a plaster cupid, there is no evidence to suggest that a romance between the pair ever existed. “Commodore” Nutt had, in fact, competed earlier with Charles Stratton for Lavinia Warren’s affections but failed in his efforts to win her hand. |
